There's a hood on Ebay that is local pick-up only. Looks to be too good a deal to pass up but I'd need to impose on one of you to get it to me here in the Great White North.

I'm down the road from Shorewood, And layed off so time to pick it up is fine. But how to get to you ????. The last hood I shipped cost $190.00. I also travel north into Wisconsin a few times a year, you could meet me there or I could hand it off to someone heading up closure to you. PM me if you need my help
How far is "down the road"? I don't want to inconvenience you too much.
As well, the more I look at the pics (especially the underside of the hood), the more I think the price truly represents the condition. I may be better off finding one in better condition but, again, it'd be best to see it in person.
It's about 45 mintues to hour away, but It's on the way to my favorite fishing hole. But I think your right that hood looks ruff. I'm busy all weekend ( easter ) so I'm not going to be able to take a look at it before the action is over. Just let me know if you need more help. bob
HA. Bjorn is cringing right now looking at that photo. I am making fun but I bought a hood the other day that had been stored like that the and both tips are chipped and one side will have to be worked a bit to fix. Could've easily been avoided by laying it on it's side.
Is all of this your way of saying your nice new car needs a hood? Or are you starting a collection of parts for the next one?
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Just bought a first gen hood the other day for $20, 45 minutes away from me. It's the third spare I have but it is better than the rest so I brought it home. I was surprised to hear that my wife knew I already had a spare down stairs. I guess she does actually listen to me once in a while.

Not starting a collection! I want to put a steel hood on the TA so I can put a hood latch on it instead of the hood pins.
Robert: you bought THAT hood for $20.00? Gotta find deals like that!
By the way, I'm sort of hesitant to commit to buying something like a used hood without first being able to see it in person. I have the guy who's going to repaint the hood for me (once I get one) looking through an associate's network of recycled parts dealers in the US. He says that if he asks for what's known as an "insurance quality" hood, we should get something that's repairable. Has anyone ever heard of this?

The white one is on a car, so thats a good sign... Hey firebob, I couldn't help notice what was on the garbage can in front of the hood? or was that an unusual lid?
Yeah that's one of next winters projects. I basically bought the other two rotted out hoods to practice on in case I messed up cutting the hole. I'm going to open the front of the scoop and either change to an RPM intake or space my carb up(maybe both) till the open top air cleaner is in the incoming air stream. Might be wasting my time but I figure if I don't like it I still have my old hood to go back to.
