Installing a Super T10 into my 69 I am suresomeone has done this. What is the correct installation kit to buy from Hurst? Is it the 3738609. Any help would be great
Duffs, you should already have everything you need. That kit you got from me was only a few months old and as far as I know will work perfectly with the T10. The only thing that may be different would be the rod for reverse, otherwise, everything else should be dead on...
The Bracket is different the back hub on the t10 is larger for the bigger yoke. The shifter will work but the bracket is for a Muncie. I am just going to buy the correct Bracket and Linkages. Just wandering if some else did it. I should have just got the muncie But I already have the 21 spline clutch installed so I will go with what I got.
There is a universal mounting plate out there, I just bought one for the LeMans, got it from Ames. It's supposedly not as good as a correct origianl would be becaue the new ones have slotted holes (which makes them universal) vs. having a single hole drilled instead of a slot. The potential issue with the slotted/ujniversal ones is the simple fact that they can "slip" due to the slots whereas a drilled ones can not "slip" due to the single hole. Hope that all makes sense. The problem is, no one makes the drilled ones, they all make the slotted ones and to find an original drilled plate is almost impossible. I've used the slotted/universal ones before and have never had any issues....
I beleive they are wrong, the one I am talking about would work I beleive. But then again, I am not a T-10 expert so maybe there is something unique there??
