Im 6'3" and most of my height comes from my legs so headroom isnt an issue i just need more leg room in my bird. I have been looking at the reproduction seat extenders that give 2 more inches of room but I would like to have more room almost to where the seatback is touching the back seat. Has anyone done this and maybe have some tips? I live in LA does anyone around my area maybe have references to some shops if i do need to have something fabricated?
Man, you must have some long legs. I'm 6'1" and fit without extenders. Do a hightower (police academy) and take the front seat out and sit in the back.

HAHA i did actually think of that haha but no like i feel like im sitting in a normal chair when i drive it my legs are bent so much plus its just my driving position preference when i drive my other cars im used to being back real far right now i feel like im driving the car from a kitchen table chair
I dont know where you are in LA, but you might want to call Mike Fennel and see if he can help you out. He has done work on both mine and a friends Firebird. The guy can fabricate just about anything and does complete restorations and custom builds. He is in Santa Clarita (up by Magic Mountain) so if you are not too far, you might want to give him a call.
The guy is extremely nice and does amazing work. He has been doing custom cars for about 30 years, so I am sure he has done cars for taller people before.. lol. And again, he can fabricate just about anything, so he might be able to at least point you in the right direction if you dont want him to do the work.
Been a while since I looked at the bottom seat tracks, but you may be able to add the extenders (+2inches) and then relocate the seat tracks on the bottom of the seat 1 or 2 inches. I think there may be enough room for that mod. Not sure, anybody else???
Wow, I was just going to post a topic on this. I just converted my seats to factory buckets and have the same problem. I am 6'1" and thought that I put the seat tracks on backwards or something. That's not the case. I can fit in somewhat ok, but my knees are bent up pretty good. I will eventually get some 1/4 inch steel or aluminum, about 1 1/2 inches wide and extend my seats back a bit by drilling mounting holes in each end of the extenders. That's about all I could think of for now!
Firebird Bill makes these ,sells them also on EBay (Nitrotat , seller)...I am only 5' 8" ,but love mine...only use 1" of the extenders , but I like to have more straight arms! I cannot imagine being 6' and NOT have these.
A more expensive way is to sell your bird and buy an "A" body. That's what I did thanks to an illegal immagrant, oops, I mean "undocumented visitor". LOL
One other thing I learned from my accident is Mexican Judo. Ju-dont know if I have a gun and Ju-dont know if I have a knife! LOL
