How does the boot attach right behind the seat?

My old one had buttons that I have done away with. My brothers GTO has a plastic channle that the boot slids onto. It the FB the same way?

I just tuck it behind the seat.

I have mine permanently fastened behind the seat. I got tired of having the wind catch it at 75mph.

Permanently? How does that work when you need to put the top up?

Having the wind catch it is what I don't want.

But how was the boot originally attached?

it tucks in behind the rear seat, snaps on two snaps on the interior panel at sides up abv / behind theash trays....then snaps over the stainless with plastic snaps inside the boots edge....

Bjorn that looks sweet! Who did you get your boot from? I need a new one and it looks like AMES sells a PUI brand with the clips for around $140.

I got mine from Classic 8 yrs ago....IF you buy , dont forget that the snaps are "extra", not included with the boot (at least they were not back then, I found out! had to pay two shipping chagres because of that)

By "permanently" I mean that I removed the back of the rear seat and placed the boot flap over the metal hooks that hold the seat back in place. Then I reinstalled the seat. It can't come out unless the seat comes out. I just flip it over the seat while the top goes up and then put it into the well. Same thing to put the top down, flip it forward top goes up, clip it down.
