And PLEASE do not call it a "Powerglide" (the Chebby term). It's a Super Turbine 300.

Salmon is correct. We see and hear all the time, about a PowerGlide, simply because it's a 2-speed. That's the ONLY similarity between ST-300 and PG. PG is a much better trans for performance applications, but in "light" cars. TH350 or 400 is far superior. Changing the ST-300 to a TH350 would dramatically change the "personality" of the car. It's a "bolt in" deal.
I don't know about this, I have one of the Pontiac 2-speed auto in my 67 LeMans. As far as I am concerned it is slow & slower! This friggen car can't get out of it's own way! However, I do get 22MPG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With my whopping open 2.56 rear end and turn a whole 2400rpm at 80mph! I can not wait to rip that 326 and 2-speed disaster out of the car and get my old 400/4-speed/3.55 combo back!
With a 2.56 and no first gear, yeah, it's going to be slow. My '66 Le Mans had a 3.23 and it was nimble and responsive with the two speed. I pondered an OD auto but I couldn't change that car, it was too pure.

This car is pure and 100% original as well, but I can't live with it like this. Once the 4-speed conv. and the new 400 goes in, then we will be talking. Hopefully soon...
