I read a previous thread about how to fix a "lazy" fuel door. I called Ames and the new spring is almost $40.00 with shipping! Hey... I don't mind throwing money at my toy, but does anyone else sell this spring?
Or does it work to try bending it?
Thanks,
Steven

bending is a very short term solution. it will loose tension again. mine finally broke after rebending several times, and i put the broken end in the slot. now it works. i prob'ly got lucky.
magnets are cheap. a new spring is the real solution though.
I just bent mine last week. It worked for me and is the best it's been since i owned my car.

Steven,i put a screwdriver in behind the spring clip and worked it towards me(out)until i found where it would close the door/sit properly.Inserted the driver through the top, pulled out a little, then up from the bottom, pulled out a little. How permanent it will be,i'm not sure. All i know is that it worked well for me!
