Hello all,

I've been all over the net and Camaro and Firebird catalogs and I can't find first gen inner door bottom replacement panels. They make complete doors, complete skins, a lower outer skin, but no inner bottom patch?

I'm more impressed with the skins I've seen than the doors as a whole, but my inner bottoms need some help and good OEM doors are expensive or in the same condition as mine frown

Other than complete door shells and skins I hadn't seen any replacement patches either so I made mine. The curve on the inner bottom of the door was the hardest to make but I was able to get it done with several small patches.

What's funny, is my door bottoms are fine there. What happened to my car is that it sat outside for 12 years without the doors ever being opened, so leaves and dirt jammed between the lower door bottom and door jam and did a number on the "outside corners" of the door bottoms. Lots of complicated curves there.

I am not impressed with the repop doors as a whole, but the door skin alone seems to be well done, and was hoping to only reskin the doors.

I just don't get why this patch isn't made.

By the way... good job!

Thanks, I'm getting better at fitting patches but still trying to get my heat under control. I'm still not exactly clear on where your issue is, but I found the only way to do the complicated curves was with multiple patches. Originally I had made a template to cover the whole corner but decided it was to intricate & costly to have made.

The crud that was stuck in the door had rusted through to the outside as well, so I made some small patches for that as well. I wasn't happy with what the heat did to doors (warpage) so I might just end up doing the skins.

This is what I am referring to. The actual door bottoms are pretty solid, it's the "corners" that are bad. The rust colored area is so bad you can push your finger through it. So I need the actual "inner corners", something that a complete lower inner patch would fix...so some one please repop this laugh
