Would like to replace my subframe mounts what is the best way to do this with or with out the motor in place? In the middle of major overhual front clip (fenders hood bumper etc.) is off and in process of putting in the new rear. As soon as that is done it's coming back down to pull the motor and tranny. Needs new bushings and subframe connectors to complete. Best way to do both?
Decide on what subframe connectors first. Some that can be bolted to the front subframe, include mounts to offset the height difference (part of the connector sandwiches between the mount and the frame so if effectively would add height if a stock mount was used).
Also strongly advise using solid mounts with subframe connectors.
Do you mean just bolt-in or welded frame connectors as well? For my 69 I was planning on Delalum solid mounts from Global West and welded frame connectors, is this a bad combination?
I would prefer more along the line of stock type mounts I have heard Ricks Camaros sells a good set. As far as the frame connectors I am going bolt in just so I can pull them out if needed. Plan on pulling the motor and then replacing them. Was just wondering what everyone thought about doing them with the motor out. Seems easyer.
If you are going to pull the motor and tranny anyway - definitely do that first. Then it's a piece of cake to roll the subframe out from under the body shell to replace the mounts and hardware.
That's how I did it.

I put the Global West connectors on my 68 and they came with a pair of solid mounts to replace the center pair. They are shorter to allow for the thickness of the connector material. I replaced the rest with solid as well, now I wish I went with stock on the remainder as you can feel every bump in the road, I swear I'd feel a piece of popcorn if I ran over one.
