Hey guys - I went to Ames catalog tonight to look up a hose ( Thanks again salmon38!)
On the first page I noticed they are looking for low milage or low production cars. If anyone remembers I have a '67 OHC6 with 29k on the speedo. The car is completely original and have been fighting the urge to tinker with it. Been looking around for some time now for a 67 -69 vert to wheel and deal with that has higher miles on it so the mods can begin! No luck though. Anyone ever deal with Ames on a deal like this? Would 29k be considered low milage to them? Thanks!!
Not too many of us have the problem of ultra low mileage cars.
I'd say give them a call. If they don't want it - you might be a candidate for Barrett-Jackson. They eat up stories like yours.
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
I would certainly call and see what they say. Keep in mind, they would most likely pay "market value" not BJ crazy money.
I've had many people offer to buy our LeMans as it had 54k on it when we bought it and is in incredible condition (8.5 out of 10). However, I love the car and could not see selling it. However, if you are wanting to make heavy mods (more than bolt on) I would definately put your feelers out for a buyer...
Not looking for "the big money " for it by any means. Just would like to find a home for it with someone who want's everything original. Then I could use the money towards a convertable project that I could customize. Sweet car by the way earlybird!
Thanks, unfortunately it no longer lives. She was hit back in Dec. and was parted out mostly to folks on this site. We now have a 67 LeMans. I've just been on this site for the past 10 years almost daily that I can't seem to leave you all. Luckily these folks are kind enough to put up with me even though I have no FGF.
