Anyone ever had a repeated clicking noise when you have the clutch pedal all the way down? I'm thinking the throw-out bearing is shot since that has been making noise since last summer especially in second gear. Any ideas would help, I'm going to pull the transmission this week if I can ever find the time!
If you have throw-out bearing issues to begin with, pulling it apart and installing a new one should show or prove once you are in there if this is the source of the clicking as well. My guess would be that it is related....
Turns out one of the springs on the inner clutch was striking the flywheel bolts. Installed a new clutch but they gave me the wrong throwout bearing so I'm waiting till the weekend to put the right one in. You are right though, we did the throwout bearing with the old clutch first to eliminate that from the equation and it still made the noise. Always good to troubleshoot problems first instead of just throwing parts at it.
When I replaced my clutch my springs were rubbing, too. And had worn quite a bit. They had used regular bolts for the flywheel to crank instead of the thin head bolts they sell for that.
