Does anybody know of a place in Dallas/Fort Worth that cleans out gas tanks? Something is causing havoc on my carb and I'm guessing it's the fuel tank. It should be original to the 69. I've heard of steaming (I heard this is almost worthless)
I've also heard of some companies that ceramic coat the tank.
Lastly, I've been told you can have the tank dipped in acid to clean it out.
Just make sure you get prices for whatever method you chose. Balance them with the fact you can get a brand new tank for $200.

What I have found is the most common problem is that the metal filter sock on the sending unit gets torn and it lets rust get through. The sock will actually fill up with rust. Price a new sending unit into your job too. Jim
