My single 16" fan shot craps today My Rodney Red Radiator has a 23"x17" "cooling area" opening w/overall dims of 29" x 18".

This dual fan combo is 50 amp, 4000 cfm. I may have to trim or rig it.

Did someone say they have a Lincoln Mark VIII cooling fan?

Factory spec is 6.5" deep, which would require trimming the shroud if that doesn't put the fan into the fins?

The mark 8 fans come with their own shroud, I beleive, and they are supposedly a near perfect fit to our stock rad. I don't have personal experiance with it. Just what I've read. Also I pulled a 2sp elec setup out of a escort(not sure if it's the same) and it fit pretty well. Had to fasten it to the top but the bottm of the shroud slipped into the orig clips if I remember right. Don't know the cfm on high speed.

Just spoke w/Jerry, and although getting someone to answer the phone is tough, he is the most helpful guy out there.

For about $400, I can ship him my radiator back, he will laser cut and install and 18" Spal puller w/ aluminum shroud and polish everything for me.

He can't get to it for a couple of weeks, and then it will be another couple of weeks in process, so based on past experiences, there goes the summer

Maybe I'll drop another cheapie single puller in and ship off the radiator when the interior is being done?

What are you running for an Alt.? 50 amp pull for the fan is a lot! I was thinking of doing the same with the MK8 (read about it on PY) but then started thinking of what I'll be able to find for an Alt to support it.

I bought a chrome alternator rated at 100 amp with my march performance serp system, but actually produced just 59 when shipped.. so I had it rebuilt to 100 amp

I have to replace the relays tomorrow too, I'll let you know the (short term) results then

IMO the correct 19.5" clutch fan, ALL upper/lower filler panels, stock shroud, rubber fillers etc. will solve all "hot" issues on any FGF. Not too mention everything fits, works and looks nice...

I agree, I've got the upper and lower panels, and need to install the A-Arm rubbers too.

But the serp system forced my into the electric fan business, however, it doesn't run hot when functioning.

I am COOL!!! Test drove for a couple of hours, on the highway, in town traffic too.. held nicely at 200º.. Outside temp was 90º.

I installed 2 Spal 30amp relays with a 195º thermostat to kick on both fans at once. Worked like a dream.

My former single 16" puller would let the temp hit 220º..

VERY GLAD I switched to the dual puller, big difference!

I used the Flexalite 180 kit. 3300 CFM. fit the rad pretty good. came with adjustable switch,relay, brackets, etc. car has only been running for 2 weeks now but has not gone above 190 yet, even during 20 min at 2000 rpm in garage during cam break-in. to see pics of it installed go to bottom of this page
