So I bought a set of Vintage American racing Torq wheels with the Firebird, and am planning to run them since the current tires are not in the greatest shape. I will be keeping the stock Rallies, but since I need tires, will by tires for one set only at this time.
The front wheels are 14X6 (per internal markings), but the rear wheels are a mystery. I measured the inner lips and the fronts are right at 6 inches, while the rears are at 8 1/2 inches. The diameter also seems bigger, so I am putting my money on the rears being 15 X 8 1/2. Any recommendations on correctly measuring the rim diameter as lip height varies? from what I have been seeing on e-bay the Torq 8 1/2 X15 seem as quite common Vintage AR wheels?
As far as tire size, what can I fit aspect ratio height and width on these rims? I am shooting for wide, but any clearance issues?
I.e. fronts 225X70X14 and rears 245 or 255 X 60 X 15? I am thinking about BFG TA's to keep the retro look.
pics of the wheels, also need to find center caps:
