The 67 Bird 400 is in its final stages of restoration. It's a numbers match car and am doing an original restoration. I did switch to disk brake on front and 15" wheels. I ordered the wheel kit from Classic Industries in 15X7. I'd like to paint the wheels to stock. Any suggestions? I plan to clearcoat after paint. They are currently painted silver/charcoal as they appear in catalogs.
I haven't posted much but have lurked and used the information on this site regularly. I'm wishing I would have shown more photos and been more active along the way. The car is neat, numbers match 400, tranny, intake, distributor, etc. It's re-painted original mayfair maize.
For what it is worth, I did call Bill Hirsh auto. The gal I spoke with is not familiar with a paint that they are using for the wheels on Pontiacs. Do you know which color or paint it is?
Ok, just got off the phone with my friend. I appoligize, I thought he bought the Rally II paint from Hirsh. As it turns out, he gets the charcoal color Rally II paint from Year One. He gets the Argent Silver locally but says the Argent Silver from Year One is also excellent. He claims the charcoal from Year One is about the only color that is a dead match for the Rally II. I have seen it and I agree as he does own several original rims and the ones he restores are dead on. Hope this helps and again, sorry I got it screwed up. It's the engine paint that we get from Hirsh!
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
