How many horns did the 69 Birds come with. I am working on my fixing my horn. I found 1 on the drivers side in front of the radiator. I see a wire hanging down on the left side that of the radiator that is not connected to anything.
I have found what I think is the horn relay on the firewall near the master cylinder. It has the following wires connected to it.
Black-to horn Black / Red tracer - 12 Volts Black / Pink tracer - ? ?
Dark Green wire - not connected - grounds when horn is pressed. The green wire that is in a plug along with the Black wire The Dark Green and Black wires are in a plastic plug that is T shaped. There is a jumper wire that runs from the black wire in the T shaped connector to the relay. The relay does not have pins that would allow it to plug directly to the relay. To me it looks like the relay was not drop in replacement. It looks there should be a jumper wire from the Dark Green wire to the unused plug on the relay.
The gm 69 relay is apparently different that the 67-68 relays. Can anyone confirm this or provide the wiring diagram for the 69 horn relay ?
You should have 2 horns a high and a low. One will be on the hood latch center support and the other on the drivers side of the core support. You can look through my photo bucket 2008 folder for location of the horns.
