All I have left to do in the 67 mayfair maize beauty are seats and some weather stripping. I'm torn over whether to have seat covers sewn and installed or buying a kit. I have kept the car "correct" since its a numbers car. Any suggestions? I used a kit for headliner and carpet and am very happy with how it looks.
PUI repro. Hands down! I had a local upholstry shop do mine, but many have done them themselves.
Don't forget new foam too!
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I used the PUI kit and did it myself. The back seat was a piece of cake...fronts, not so much. Scale of 1-10 difficulty for a first timer 9.5. I also added some extra padding front and rear. I'm happy with'm but never again
As much I like having the cut and sewn seats, I'm going to order a kit to keep car in correct state. I'll plan to order a PUI kit for the upholstery shop. Even though I'd like to learn to do interior, this set of seats aren't the starter or guinea pigs.
Kit for sure, the only area I had trouble myself was the front seat bottom tucks, I may take them to an upholsterer to re-stretch...I have the deluxe repros from PUI, great quality
