Been trying to find correct carb for 67 400, but keep striking out. Carb man says has one will rebuild for $695 Wow. In looking for one of these been hearing the early ones had design flaws and tend to leak and cause flooding. Questions is it worth tracking one down if it is going to be a trouble maker? Why not look at the slightly newer ones or go edelbrock q jet?
I take it your looking for a 7027268? I don't think I would spend 695. I wouldn't give up just yet. Any pontiac that year should work. You can buy the linkage arms from ames. I think they have them for 67 anyway. The only leaking problems that I have heard about are the fuel well plug that come on all quads. These can be easily be repaired with some epoxy. I would do some more looking on the net and on ebay. Even if you get a badly worn used one Cliff Ruggles can redo it for a bargin basement price. The 68 ones have been going for 200 on down depending on condition. If your trying to keep it all number matching verify the # you need first. I would prefer a nasty worn carb to someone elses rebuilt one, just so I could send it to Cliff and have it set up right and the shaft re bushed.
Go over to Classical Pontiac and do a search on q-jets. You are looking for a guy named Cliff Ruggles and I think his handle is carbking.
Anyway, all the Pontiac guys over there swear by him and 1) he will prevent such problems and 2) I bet you his price will be considerably less.

I wish I would have taken picture of my carb before I started on it. It sat in carb cleaner for a month and I still couldn't get the throtle to move. I had Cliff do everything to my carb. He realy does to nice work for a good price.
I don't think it would be unreasonable to pay $500+ for a correct carb and restoration. Let me know what carb you are looking for. I have a friend in Texas that specializes in Q-Jets and he may have what you are looking for.
looking for 7027272 400 auto 67. Recarbco responded with they will rebuild if I can find one. Mark in Texas responded to my request at $795 and then send it to sparky for rebuild. Ouch. Looks like this will be a patience deal.
No Mark said 795 plus it still needs a rebuild. The latest I have learned is that the 67 is pre-smog so less of them around. The newer ones will need to be modified for the 67 pre-smog intake and vacuum set up.
