My 69 has a muncie 4 speed that replaced the auto. Previous owner never modified or replaced the console and I have this opening that begs to be modified. Presently have a hurst boot attached to the tunnel and sticking up through the console. Would appreciate pix / ideas of how others have fabricated something for a better look. Thanks Larry
The shifter is the aftermarket hurst competition mounted with their bracket on to the M22 muncie case. The shift arm was a problem due to the reverse offset location, but after 2-3 different ones ( thanks to Summitt ) the current one has the proper bend to get into reverse. Mounted the existing console into the stock hole location on the tunnel.Considered ordering a manual shift bezel but figured the reverse offset would slam into the side and cause a bind. Just took a pix but cant seem to attach to the response. photobucket
