My wife kind of got me a xmas present. She knew that I wanted a new steering wheel for my 68 bird but did not know which one. I will be updating my interior so it will not all be stock. What are some nice options or what have other people used when not going with a stock steering wheel.
That is the same Grant wheel that I'm using. I had a center cap from my old grant wheel so I made one with a first gen bird on it. I switch back and forth with the arrow head cap that comes with the wheel. I found mine on e-bay for $75 because it has a small flaw in it. Love the looks and feel of it.
I thought the formula wheels base was to wide for the older style column. How does it fit with not having the dished out portion like the older style wheel??

Fit's like a glove and horn works great!

If you want to use a different center cap you can use one from a Goat through Ames, etc. with a pontiac arrow. I actually have a center cap from the hubcap of a 63 lemans, which just happens to fit perfectly (got lucky).
haha yep best fuel economy that I have seen from her thus far! I go fast while sitting in the garage! The Wheel being discussed is to my likeing and because of a switch issue the column is also F.R. Gotta agree with your tag line "Do it right or dont do it at all..." Problem with that is the wife just says get it done and lets hurry to the fun... uh to drive the car I mean.
