This guy advertises in Madison Wisconsin selling a 2003 Wrangler for 2900.00. I emailed him even though I am sure it’s a scam. He has a new twist on the shipping/eBay scam. Claims he is in the National Guard and shipping out to Afghanistan at the end of the month for a year. Well you read the email see what you think.
Hey, I am in a currently stationed at Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard Training Center. We are getting ready for Afghanistan. We are in the final stage of our training and we are not allowed to use the phone during this period. This is supposed to keep us focused on our trainings. I am only allowed to check my email twice a day. I hope you can understand that we will have to stick to email for now. The vehicle is here with me at the base but I’ve already made all the arrangements with DAS to pick it up from the base. DAS will also handle the title transfer for an extra $75.00. Being in the army has some advantages and one of them is the fact that I can ship it very cheap. I will pay for the shipping charges, as I’ve said in my first email. I think I can have it there in 5-7 business days. I am a member of the eBay buyer protection program and using this service you will give a 3 days testing period after delivery. During that 3 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested in buying it so I can ask eBay to send you the details on how this works. I have to fill out a form on eBay and I need the name that will go on the title and an address where you want the car delivered. Once I do it, eBay will email you all the details on this transaction and we can get the ball rolling. Alex

If it sounds too good to be true, its probably a scam. Easiest solution is email the guy and tell him that youre a local, from that PA area, and can you swing by in person to look at it, and youll bring cash. If he doesnt respond, its a scam...then report him to CL to get it removed.
1)EBay does not handle anything like this 2) DAS is often referred to by scammers....you can call DAS and ask them about him ,"I’ve already made all the arrangements with DAS to pick it up from the base."... I bet they have no clue
I have a brother-in-law that is currently going through officers training in Kansas, and it is true that they have extremely limited access to any technology while they are in training. He has to fight just to make an occasional call to his family. He has almost no contact with his wife and child. It's actually rather sad the army does this.
I have a nephew that once he got through basic and got his phone back he was on Facebook more than he ever was before. I think he was even sneaking off to the can to post or tweet or whatever you call it. Sits up all night on watch with his gremlin or drone or whatever that smart phone is called. Lord help us if somebody ever wanted to steal something.
I'd say it's a scam. The only time my brother didn't have his phone was during basic training and during occasional training in the desert. How does being in the Army help him ship something cheap? My brother just paid $500 to ship his motorcycle from Florida to Texas. It's sad scammers are stooping this low.
