I used earlier reproduction Camaro fenders on my '68 vert..(had to weld over some parking lamp holes)... The fit was indeed tougher than I'd expected. I had to cut some of the fender mounting supports and reweld them and redrill some inner fender holes for an acceptable fit. As I said, they were older repros, and hopefully the newer ones are better.
There are two main manufacturers for the repro sheet metal.
Goodmark good to OK quality and fitment
Dynacorn - good to very good quality and fitment
Check with the retailers as to what company they get their sheet metal from... and go with the Dynacorn product. From what I hear it's a much better quality, but still not perfect... (nothing is) FYI Dynacorn is the company reproducing the 69 camaro whole body!
I bought a pair of 69 "Goodmark" doors. They work in a pinch but the door skin is thinner. Also, they are not exact reproductions so you have to work harder to get them to fit right. The finished product is NOT as nice as an original no matter how much work you put into them. I bought them two years ago through Classic Industries. Jim
Thanks for all the replies. I'm starting to think that it may be better to repair pieces that have rust through rather than to replace them. I think the rear window deck may be an exception. That part is pretty far gone.
