There's a difference between the crossmember for the TH-400 and the TH-350/ manual/ powerglide. The TH-400 crossmember has a leg that sticks out the back that the transmission bolts to. The other one has the bolt holes in the middle.

My shop reused the trans crossmember from my 6 to V8 swap. They just welded a leg on to it and moved it back into the right frame holes. Been that way for over 2 years and works fine.
