I can't wait for Spring. It was 50 degrees here in NJ yesterday, so I took the car out for a 20 minute spin. I can see myself checking the weather everyday looking for my next chance to get in a quick ride.
No..... I have a wife and two kids that don't let me out of their sight, so I didn't want to waste precious minutes putting the top down and putting on the boot.
I got that beat.... I took my blue 67 out drove it to my dad's and got my white 67 out. Drove it 20 miles to a pontiac racing nuts house. We talked for 4 hours about building me a race motor for my blue car. I want a 428 he wants to help build a 462 stroker.
O no...we have more than that! We have "cold" 6 weeks, then summer, the HOT, then HUMID! then summer again ,then cold for 6 weeks again....lol...we had freezing temps 3 weeks ago, now upper 70s and trees are budding!
I think creekbob and I have everyone beat. We've been cruising for two full months now and today it was over 90*! We have gone from winter to summer with no spring! Love it!!!
So far this year we have been to probably 20 cruise-ins and have now done 5 actual car shows so far this year. Just took "Best Classic" this past sunday out of 75 classics. It was pretty cool...
Well geesh, I keep waiting for the warm up to work on my cars. All I had to do all along was go south about 12 hours. Boy talk about feeling stupid.... LOL Some of us don't have a luxury of being able to move to the place where the sun shines everyday. Oh well I'll take my little cruises when I can get them.
I was out in the garage last night installing a nos shifter boot and froze my a$$ off. We still have 6' tall piles of snow. I did sit in the car (with no seats) and dream about that first nice spring day.
Had those boiled peanuts a couple years back during bike week in Daytona. It's an aquired taste!
I've been tempted to try those boiled peanuts when we are south. It seems like so many of the roadside places that sell them don't look like a place I would want to get food.
Peanuts are one of my favorite foods but so far they are usually in a basket on the table and the shells on the floor.
Believe it or not, they are the best places to go. The guy I go to puts squash, carrots, broccoli and potatoes in it. They all work together and absorb each others flavors. Well Dave, you asked for it. That's a picture I found on Google.

We were on our way back from Panama City FL headed up a 2 lane road through Alabama, and at four way stop was a guy who looked to be soliciting donations. I figured it was the lions club or something like that, nope it was a guy selling boiled peanuts. In small town AL,on the square, on a Sunday! I told my wife we weren't in Kansas anymore LOL. \\
No I have not had them, but I have seen them and to me they looked disgusting.
This time of the year we could have all four seasons in the same day! so ill have to wait another 6 weeks and need a good rain to wash all the salt away.....but i get the itch every morning when i walk in the garage.....
