This has probably been discussed, but any suggestions on raising the spoiler a tiny bit so it does not rub on my fenders when the new weatherstripping the in the trunk finally settles?
Only way is to add spacers of some sort under the pedestals. maybe some gasket material or old inner tube. When i painted mine last winter i had the bodyguy remove a little material on each end to give me more clearance ,didn't want to chip the paint when i closed the trunk lid.
Oh man that would have been an ideal solution, I will look at some ad hoc spacers, really only need about 1/8 of an inch. Thanks for the info, if I ever get the opportunity to repaint I will keep that in mind. I could just have the spoiler done...mmmm.... will have to ponder that.
it shouldnt rub on the fenders...not sure if you have a new or used spoiler...if used ,someone could have cut the pedestals? if not, maybe something is wrong in the spoiler ,making ends bend down? as stock it should not touch fenders as long as trunk lid is level with fenders.
They do make pads that attach to the bottom of the ends so when you close the lid it won;t hurt the paint. I guess it was a problem back in the day too.
