Got home around 4:00 today only to find someone broke into my garage and took the good stuff. My welder, air compressor, power tools, air tools, hand tools and I'm sure there's more I haven't missed yet. F'in low lifes.
World is full of them. If they'd get a job our economy would be in better shape. But no they got to pick on the guys who are trying to keep our country afloat by working. Probably needed 20 dollars for drugs.
Ever since the economy went sour, I've been noticing more and more thefts and crime in the local papers. Not the usual DUI's and cannabis stuff, but a lot more retail thefts, shoplifting, and break-in's.
What's disturbing in this new age of "hope and change" is that there seems to be no restraint anymore. I'm seeing a lot of retail thefts where someone just blatantly grabs merchandise and runs. Open cash register, in broad daylight, not even a weapon used, just grab the money and run. Also seeing things like people breaking into foreclosed homes, stealing water heaters, copper pipes, a/c units, faucets. Just recently there was a report of a van that pulled up to a Sam's Club, in broad daylight, and 3 guys started loading up shopping carts (they were caught). Another case where 2 guys were stealing road signs, another where 3 guys were trying to steal the giant letters off of a bankrupt Blockbuster Video.
People are getting desperate.
Terrible news though, and I feel for ya.
At least no one cracked your skull open for the $5.00 you have in your wallet, or for the McDonald's bag your carrying, like what happens in many areas of Chicago.
No worse feeling than total violation! Sucks that's for sure. Did you ask neighbors etc. if anyone saw anything? Maybe your homeowners/renters ins. will cover your loss hopefully?
Should be like the Old West, shoot `em when ya find them!!Stinkin`Ba****ds!!!
That's what I love about Florida. We have to Castle Doctrine which applies to your house, work and vehicle. Pretty soon we will be an open carry state, as well. Not sure yet if I want to partake in that.
Sorry to hear about the stuff they took. The good news is that it is all replaceable.

In Mississippi, we can carry openly in our vehicles. They are an extension of our homes. You just need to tell the officer, if stopped for anything, what you have. You can carry weapons loaded between the seats like I do in my truck.
Sorry about the loss and I hope they catch the sum b***hes.
sorry to hear it...been there ,done that....its a pretty bad feeling too....our break in was the house w attached garage....stole my MC ,tools, rummage thru the whole house, turned every thing upside down, stole my wifes jewelry, my granddads old gold pocket watch, money, etc ,etc drank my beer ,left the fridge open so everything in there was gone bad...useed our bathroom to go no 2, dind flush ,didnt use paper! felt really violated....neighbors had seen them...5 black kids estimated in the 13-17 yr old range....nobody called cops ...thanks alot!
Thiefs are the absolute worst. It's the only time I ever identify with the mideast and some of their preventive methods - steal from me and I chop your hand off. 2 things I have no stomach for - liars and thiefs.
you think cuz your in a good neighborhood that kinda stuff wont happen to you...but NOT so...there is no good stuff in the crappy hoods.... been thinking bout a an alarm system well thinking is over im getting one oh and a locking gas cap to!!!! i THINK SOMEONE BREAKING IN AND STEALING FROM YOUR GARAGE IS TO A MAN WHAT RAPE IS TO A WOMAN....
I too am sorry to hear about your loss. Normally I would let a comment like this go, but to compare losing material possessions to a woman being sexually assaulted is one of the most ignorant things I've read on a forum.
