I am currently restoring a 1967 convertible. It's not a numbers car and is my first real restoration. I purchased the car in 1987, sold it in 2001 after not getting anything done. It was then sold again. I decided last year that I needed it back and found it and bought it again. Anyway, I am in the process of putting the motor back in the car, 400 from a 69 GTO and am having problems figuring out where the coil is supposed to mount. I believe it should be mounted to the rear of the passenger side head. Is that correct?? Thanks
Welcome to the site. I have some pictures on my photobucket of my 326. It has the coil bracket mounted off the intake. If your engine is not an original fgf, it may be a bit different. It tucks up behind the air cleaner assembly. For '68 the coil bracket mounts off the throttle bracket. SO I know '67 and '68 are different. I don't know anything about '69 mounting.
It's hard to see, but if you look near the end of my "resto" photobucket, there are some shots of the engine bay.
If not, someone else may pipe in with some better pictures or info.

Thanks everybody. Heading to Stafford Motor Speedway in the morning for a swap meet, maybe find some goodies for the car. I appreciate the replies, sure to have plenty more questions as the build continues.
