Finishing up the rebuild, and I'm trying to determine if I can use a set of intake manifold gaskets that I have vice buying another set. The sets I have are Felpro MS 90123 and MS 9980. My heads have the 1/2 size heat crossover, and these two gasket sets have a full size cut out for the heat crossover. Will this cause any problems? Do I need to get a different set of intake gaskets?
As long as the upper part of the gasket extends around the open crossover port and the outer edge of the intake port it should seal off. It's when the gasket doesn't completely surround the hole on both that you will have a leak.
The Heads are 16s, and the Manifold is an Edlebrock RPM. Both have the 1/2 size heat crossover on the upper sections that match up. Sounds like either gasket I have will work.
