A friend of mine if rebuilding a 68 conv. It came with the 350/350. It's since been changed to a 400/350. He is trying to find the correct throttle cable bracket. He told me to keep my eyes out for the F4 bracket which is the one I run on my 69. I'm pretty sure that is correct on a 69 400 only, or am I mistaken? I'm pretty sure it will work, but is it correct on a 68? Also, I have a pontiac throttle cable bracket with the number 979575 on it. Tried google-ing it but came up empty. Can anyone identify it? I am going to just give it to him if it will work. Thank you as always, my fgf brothers & sisters.
F4 is correct for '68 as well. There is usually one for sale on Epay. I also believe the repop shops are selling them now too.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. Vikki, about what date is the transition? My '68 'vert is second week of Sept '67 build, and it has the original F4.

A 68 with a th350 never was available from the factory so I don't think either bracket has provision for the kick-down cable ? I think you should look out for a bracket from a 69 Firebird that came with a Th350.

Thanks for pointing that out! He is absolutely right, the TH350 was a '69 transmission.
Again it will come down to the intake manifold part number. If the F4 will fit, no problem. If not...customization is in your future.
