1) Which wiring harness? - each model has several.
2) Painless is custom wiring: you wire your car yourself. The retro parts houses usually offer one from M&H which is an exact copy of the originals.
3) I replaced all my wiring harnesses with copies of the originals, I got them from either Ames or Classic Industries. I did not feel like playing amateur electrician.

Looking for a full replacement harness kit,from front to rear. My original one has seen better days. Not necesserally a copy of an original harness,open to updated ones
Consider american autowire. http://www.americanautowire.com/67-68firebird.html They have a classic update kit and for under $600 you can wire the entire car. Same one we used to redo ours. Great kit, excellent instructions and very good quality. IMO it's the best bang for your buck.
Thats the one i saw in the Classic industries catalog for $540 But they list it as part#:500887.not 500886 Everyone seems to think that they are the best. Waiting on their next discount period to place my order Chris
