Ok boys and girls- after two years I am finally rehanging sheetmetal on the front of the bird. I have had to put two after market fenders on. Now I need advice where to adjust the hood- front fender relationship. When closed should the hood be a) slightly shy of the end of the fender, b) even with the front of the fender, or c) slightly in front of the end of the fender.
Feel free to chime in as I need all the input I can get. And a bigger hammer (LOL)!!!!!!!

The front of the fender aligns with the front of the hood looking from the top. The 69's have the most parts and pieces for the front end of just about any car and the factory manual is a huge help with this.
The key that should help out regardless of year, leave everything on the loose side while assembling, especially the core support mounts, everything is built off of that. When making the final adjustments on the hood and your satisfied with the way it is closing, leave the the latch assy. loose so when you close the hood it centers it automatically, open the hood slow and carefully and then cinch up the bolts.
