I need to know what my 68 350 HO had originally for a shifter ball. It's a 4 spd Muncie with Hurst shifter. I currently have a silver, Hurst T-type handle but I don't think it is orginal. I believe originally it was a white or black ball with the 4 spd shift pattern. Which is it? white or black? What about thread size? My shifter seems to be 3/8" 16 threads per inch (coarse).
call ames performance.they have them.their # is:1-800-421-2637.they come in black and white.the 69 had the walnut knob which looks better.the thread should be 3/8 coarse(x16).
It should be a black ball, white letters, with that shifter. My M-20 in the '68 had that ball, but I pulled it and installed the Hurst bar for more surface space to rip through the gears. My M-20 actually heckles and curses at me as I go through the motions! It complains endlessy but never lets me down. Not sure if its because it misses the black ball or if thats just the way M-20s act. Strange girl, my Suzie-Q.
