Can someone tell me where to measure the ride height for my rear suspension. My rear springs are original and the rear is sagging bad. I'm assuming between top of rear tire and wheel well??
i would say u can start there, then measure from bottum of leaf spring where it bolts to rear axle. then start measuring from sub frame to ground at front of car. it may actually b a front coil spring that is weak or broke. i had a situation where the back right of car sat about 3/4" higher than left rear of car. i put spacers in the front left coil spring, and balanced the rear within a 1/4".
No. You measure from the bottom of the rocker to the ground.
Unlike on human females, a sagging rear is good for the car; some people think the rear is sagging, but it's where it should be. The hookup factor will increase the more dragass you have because these cars are rolling defects in chaisis design.
Going on memory recall, not one of my better subjects, the 8.1" seems somewhere in the ballpark of factory specs.
All the specs for Curb height, as well as where and how to measure are in the factory service manual, and there is a great site that many have mentioned on here but of course I can not remember it at the moment, but it has a link to all the manuals in the "library" tab. I am sure that someone will remember the site or link. Measuring from the tire to the fender is not accurate as tire diameters today can be off by as much as 1/4 inch with the P-Metric (i.e. P205/70/R14) way of measuring versus the old "F40x14" etc...
