I recently aquired a 67 Coupe. I removed the subframe to prep., rebuild and paint it. When I took off the drivers side Upper Controle Arm I found the the area where the top of the coil spring rests is about half eaten away with rust. Does anyone have any experience with this problem or know if there is a repair kit that can be purchased to fix this up?
You should be able to pick up a new uper control arm pretty easy? Depending on where you are, and or who has the parts... (both of these fellow Firebird guys should have them?)
Check with Bill or Terry

They should be able to help you out, and since you have it apart, now is the time to replace it.
Good luck, welcome to the list, and let us know how it works out!
I've never seen a frame rust thru right there yet, and dont know of any kits. Mine looked kinda bad at the pocket until I sandblasted, but it cleaned up fine. The metal was strong to a stout pik hammer.
If it is that bad, you can still find subframes... maybe not a '67 though... the later ones bolt in but are different in the bumpstops and maybe a couple drilled holes..
