Are the '69 Outer tie rod ends the same for the Firebird and Camaro? I'm surprised at how expensive those little hunks of metal are... the auto parts store wants $50 a piece. Are there any others that work for less cash? Not that I'm cheap or anything...
I was looking at the part numbers for Moog tie rod ends recently and I recall that the Firebird numbers were different than the Camaro ones. Of course the Camaro's were cheaper. I think the lengths are different as well as the center link. Firebirds were set up slightly different than Camaros and were supposed to handle better. I guess we're paying the price for it.
They ARE different....I did a side by side comparison between the Camaro and Firebird tie rods. Almost everything on the 69 is different from the Camaro. Center link, inner and outer tie rods are different, but everything else is supposedly the same.
