One of the rollers on my passenger front window is missing all of the plastic roller, only the metal central core remains. This causes the window to be misaligned as the roller core jumps in and out of the track.

I ordered the replacement rollers from classic (I planned to replace them all since I have to do one anyway), but can't figure out how to install them. They look to be riveted in place. I could probably drill/grind the old one out, but how do you go about installing a new one? Special tool or just a hammer and punch?

Also, is there a special tool to remove the metal mounting hardware from the actual window glass - it looks like there should be a wrench with 2 prongs to grab the little holes on the window hardware.

I made my own tool to remove the glass hardware. 3/8" square
stock then welded round stock to it after grinding the end to
fit the slots in the mounting hardware.

Anyone else have thoughts on how to remove and replace window rollers?

Does anyone know if I can buy a tool as described above - I don't have a welder (yet...)

Wow, those tools look like the tool to replace the spikes on
my golf shoes. And it only cost $6.00. I'll have to see if
it will work on the glass.

Thanks for the link to the tools 69Bird - I think that looks exactly like I need.

How about re-installing the new rollers? Has anyone done this or did everybody just buy a new regulator setup? My reg works fine, it's just the rollers that need replacing.

I replaced the just the rollers, it was an easy job on mine. If I remember correctly a part of the plastic broke but I was still able to remove it and thread in the new one.
