I apologize if this has been asked before but I need to replace the dash harness on my 68 Firebird, can anyone recommend a specific maker of dash harnesses that are easy to install? I've heard of Painless and a few others but never having attempted this before, I wanted a harness is easy to install and I won't have to do any major modifications to the harness. Any advice/suggestions would be most appreciated!
Painless makes a great wire harness. However, the guy that is doing my car uses OE Electrical Harnesses and Switches. You may want to talk to him to get his insight. He restores Pontiac's for a living and knows his craft very well.
He can be reached at 513-314-9806 Chris

From what I have read here, most of us like OEM replacement harnesses from M&H. Exact copies of the originals. Ames and Classic Industries carry them.
Painless is CUSTOM wiring.

So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
M&H is my vendor of choice also. Completely plug and play, except for a clutch safety switch pigtail that has been added to the '68 harness (not used on the original, so I just jumpered it).
