Hi guys I have a 68 400 with a/c and I was wondering what core radiator did this car come with? How can you tell how many cores are in a radiator. I'm a newbie to this so any help would be appreciated. My current radiator leaks on the driver side where the pet [censored] valve is.
With a downflow radiator you can look in the filler neck (when the coolant is low or drained) and count the number of tube rows. With side flow radiators, that trick of course will not work.
Take it to a radiator shop - they can verify the # of rows and maybe fix your old one.

I can dig up the code if you need it. If you have the original radiator, get it recored as Mark said. Make sure you stress the reuse of the original Harrison tanks and brackets....so you dont get screwed.

How can I tell if its the original radiator or not? Is there a tag or a number stamped in it anywhere?
Harrisons supposedly all may have the "Harrison" brand embossed on the right tank and a "Fill Cold" embossed on the back of that tank. Mine was missing the tag so I picked one up from the Parts Place to be added when I had it restored in May. Note that the lower fan shroud clip arrangement was different between my Harrison and the aftermarket radiator I had been using too.
I looked at the radiator and it said fill cold on the back. I pulled the cap off and looked. There were four baffles that run vertically. I believe its a four core. How much does it run to get it restored?
