The TH400 mounting bracket is the same for the 200R4. The TH350 bracket isn't right. Having said that, I still had to modify the mounting holes slightly on the TH400 bracket that I purchased.
Yoke is the same.
Everything is the same for the shifter except you need to change the detent plate (for the extra gear) and the indicator plate in the console. Check out www.shiftworks.com. Their conversion kit was excellent and the console still looks "factory".
If there's anything else you're wondering about, let me know. I'm really happy with the results. I'm running about 2800 rpms at 70mph with 3.55 ratio.
I'm getting the 200 4 R from Monster Transmissions. I'm paying the extra $300 on their "heavy duty" to have it built to 500+ tq. (Standard build is 400tq, but my engine may come out a little stronger... I push her a bit hard so I figure it may bring some extra longevity)
2800RPM at 70 with 3.55? That actually sounds a little high to me... I was planning on going 3.73 with the 200 R 4. I did math based upon my current setup and future gear ratio. I'm not sure if it is all straight line math or not...but assuming it is...
My THM400 3rd gear 1.0:1 w/3.08 hits 3000 @ 75mph. I made a formula that basically told me a 200 4 R OD .067:1 w/3.73 would be 2434rpm @ 75mph. (Figured a 3.55 to be 2316rpm @ 75)
I wonder if I made some incorrect assumptions..!
Do I need the GM cable from the conversion page on the shift works website?
Thanks for the info!
1968 Firebird 400 Convertible Original: Engine, Intake manifold, Heads, Body, Stereo, 3.08. THM400. Engine rebuilt by Ken Keefer early 2012. New: Holley 4bbl 670 HP, hidden iPod setup, RobbMC mini starter, A/C, front disc brakes
I too have been kicking around the idea of a 200-4R, had my heart set on a 5 speed Keisler RS600 swap, but the $$ involved along with the limited availability have me thinking about an auto with OD.
For those that have done it, or are further along in the thought process, what stall speed torque convertor did you put in and why?
It came complete with 200R4 transmission (level 2 for 400hp, 375 ft lb torque), converter, fill tube & stick (I changed to a Lokar), TV Pressure Cable, universal transmission mount, converter cover and oil.
They also make level 3 for 500hp and level 4 for 750hp.

You're right... excuse the typo. I'm running about 2300 +/- at 70 mph.
The TV cable should come with your transmission package. It did with GearStar, but you'd have to check with Monster. The only thing I had to pick up from Shiftworks was the conversion kit.
I also had to get a TV bracket for the Holley. I picked this up at TCI.
I know this is an old post, but thought I would share for others considering this. Even though the TH400 transmission mount will work, it has a set back. The bottom of the 2004R pan will sit on the crossover and I couldnt get the transmission mount to bolt up without spacers (washers) because of a gap between both of them, So you have to elongate the holes to help, but you still will not be able to pull the trans pan without removing the x over so I decided to get an after market x over. Also, if you try and use the TH400 transmission cooling lines, you will need to bend them to fit. These two items caused me to change these two items since no one ever posted anything about this. Could be my car, but I have recently found post by other owners, by a google search stating the same thing. Hope this helps others out... still worth it if your want your engine to run lower RPM's
