Installing the correct auto shifter on 68 firebird, have 2 questions. How is the indicator (P-R=D-1-2-3) tag held in place and where does it go, on the shifter or top plate? The bulb for the indicator is there, does it dangle or clip somewhere?
The indicator should sit inside the cutout for it on the shifter,then the top plate when clipped down should hold it in place.The bulb/socket fits in the hole underneath the indicator. Sounds like you just have the indicator plate and no housing.Need pics, feel free to e-mail me at Mardave68@aol.com
