In my 69 Firebird (with deluxe interior) the door lock knobs are different on the left and the right hand sides. One has a sharper edge in the top (like a funnel) whereas the other has a more rounded shape. Both are chrome though, and have a smooth stem.
When I look in the vendor catalogs, I find conflicting information. The one with the sharper top edge seems to be for 1967 and older GM cars. For 1968 up I find two different knobs listed, one with a ribbed stem and one with a smooth stem. Both of them has the rounded top.
Does anyone know what the correct door lock knobs for a 69 should look like?
Oops, my memory wasn't as good as I thought. This is what my lock knobs look like. The left side (bottom picture) has an incorrect one (1967), but the right side (top picture) has a lock knob with ribbed stem. The question still, is it correct with the ribbed stem it should it be a smooth stem. I find the vendor catalogs a bit confusing there.
just bought a supposedly unmolested one owner car, it has the ribbed ones and it is stnadard interior. I also checked my coupe and it has deluxe interior and the ribbed ones as well
Soo???????????? not sure but I would say the ribbed
