I'm thinking about handing off my Firebird to someone with the resources to put her back to where she needs to be and by handing off I mean selling.
I haven't taken the car apart yet but it will need at least partial floor pans and a new trunk and after letting a friend drive it it needs a new passenger fender and front bumper. I was planning a complete nut and bolt as soon as I found out what it was. As I'm sure most of you know by now it is missing the original engine but I believe it does have the original exhaust manifolds, transmission and rear-end.
I have the car but I don't have the money to restore it. I hope to get enough money to buy a fairly basic '68 Aegena Blue GTO convertible that is for sale locally and have enough money to finish the restoration on it. It would be nice to be able to drive a car within the next couple of years and the GTO would be a better fit for my family.
I'm shooting for $25k. If someone already has the parts and skills they shouldn't have to worry about being completely upside down on it.
If anyone is interested PM me and I'll start getting the pictures and docs put together.
Its time to do something with the car or sell it. If I can get $15,000 or more for the car by the end of the month I'll sell it, if not I'm starting the resto. Also going with the car is a complete oil pan to carburetor 68 WZ motor (I was told it ran when pulled a couple of years ago.) An aftermarket front bumper, used front valence, both front fender extensions, and headlight panel with lights 3 are T3 (don't know if they work.)
Again you guys here get first dibs, I'll probably post it over on PY this weekend.
I'd love to, but too many irons in the fire myself.
