Is it even possible? There's new weather stripping around the trunk, but water keeps collecting badly.
Now I know this is the internet, and people love to post the obvious..."keep it in a garage". Well this is happening when I'm out and about in the rain (and for those in the northeast you can attest to how it's raining about every single day).
A new gasket sealed mine up nicely. The only place I get a little bit in is around the passenger side taillight gasket. I've been too busy to replace those.
Can you tell where it is leaking? You may be able to adjust the trunk lid 'tilt' a bit if it is leaking near the top. The taillight gaskets are prone to leaks when they dry out. If you have water near the rear of the trunk, it may be those and not the lid seal.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I'll check the rear window, but the backside of the trunk is completely dry. It's in the base where the water is pooling. It could be the taillights. I'll look.
I finally found my trunk leak after 2 decades...rear tail lights. A bondo job on the outside hid the poor sealing job. Put someone in your trunk with a flashlight and giver with high pressure water.
Preferable a blond to soak up the leaks.

OK, heres my trail of finding trunk leaks....first I knew I had a problem as PO had already replaced the trunk pan/... trunk always got wet when washing the car...no need to drive in rain... 1) when I replced the top (its a vert) I found the 'gutter' cracked, replaced it leaks continued 2) heard about tail lights, sealed those up. leaks continued 3) found a leak around right rear bumper bolt...(for this you have to be inside the trunk)...leaks continued 4)I had new rubber seal around trunk opening ,so I didnt supect it....but I pulled it...found a tiny pin hole in the right rear corner where several pieces of metal come together , UNDER the seal ,so you dont see it.....siliconed it....no more leaks.!
someone asked already but vert or not? there is a rain gutter that collects water from the top and is often cracked and leaks water. Not on hard tops of course.
