Anyone have experience using aftermarket rear quarters on a 68 vert?

I need to order quarters and prefer ones with a decent lip across the top.

i replaced both of mine with aftermarket from year-one. they are coupe quarters but, my body guy said the fit was great. and they do look great installed.

these are quarter skins, not quarter panels.

year-one has a good tech department also and can answer most questions you might have, and they aren't too lazy to go back to the warehouse and make comparisons between parts.

NPD also carries a quarter skin. but i have not seen these. they are not as expensive and since npd has a depot in michigan, it will save some serious $$$$ on shipping.

Here's my experience with the new stamped quarters used on my convertible from this past spring. I used a full coupe quarter from NPD $419 which were cut to fit the convert body.

I have ordered from NPD and Year One before, but wasn't sure about the quarters. I wanted to get some advice before ordering.

I am sure that you have been looking at EBAY and Hemmings. I actually found a guy (word of mouth) who sold me a new NOS 400 Hood and NOS rear quarters. The funny part was that the guy had these stored in a garage about 5 blocks from my house.

tinindian, do you still have the contact info for the guy with the quarters?

wish i could find a 400 hood that easy....always hear of people getting lucky. never happens to me.

This was a few years ago. I had been lookedfor for the guy a few times since. Seems to have disappeared. Although I got lucky as you said, I did pay $1250 for the hood.
