Spent the last 3 hours ranting and raving with good old Banshee, the Cop with a Heart, tonight!!
I know a few other FGFers have spoken with him recently, but he gave me strict authorization to say hello to all members of this website and to pass along his best wishes.
Though the conversation was interupted by various heinous crimes (Cabbie stealing laptop? Guy from South america just wanting his due?) Banshee did his best to stay on target and give me a good update on his situation. It was indeed hilarious to hear what a cop goes through over 2-3 hours of his day. Cracked me up to hear it all.
Tried to talk him into a 4-500 dollar Dell or HP to get him back up and running (can't a cop get a good deal?), but worst case is a couple of us computer builders get together and put one together for him so he can get back up and running. He's sending me his HD to recover that data.
SWEDE! - VERY important point he wanted to make: He got your Carb back from the rebuild and was not happy with the workmanship - he is now spending his own cash to ensure you get what he promised you! He did not want you to think he had forgotten. He's working it hard and should have your parts in the mail very soon!
He's doing a US tour in March to friends and family and will visit our home here in Nashville for a few days, so we need to get our KY and TN FGFers together for a night or two of car work, food and beer. I will gladly host this event if any of you are available!

Yo Nashville... I can scrounge up enough parts for a pretty good internet system easily (Well... must admit I am a network admin) and can get it off for shipping costs only.... could use one or two parts but I can prob find them. Off the top of my head, I have a P3 1G system with 256 gathering dust... the only thing I need is a good HD. Let me know if anyone has a decent one; other than that I can hook Banshee up. Dave
Glad to hear Banshee is doing good... Take care of him when he comes visiting...might be nice to know a good cop, or have one as a friend...Mike in Quincy(Boston) is a nice cop too! visited him last summer, he`s originally from Texas (DFW-Bedford), so of course he`s nice...lol sorry I cant help w computer stiuff, not my area ....but all the best to him ,if you talk to him again...
Tom called me yesterday to say hello and he is fine.
The "Swede" John is talking about is Michael (Micke) in Sweden.
Quenton and I hope to see Banshee (Tom) in a couple of weeks - we will both be in Detroit.
John - as far as a get together - keep me posted. He will probably stop in Lexington on the way down (he better, since he will be driving right past me to get to Nashville).
I forwarded this to Micke ("Swede")...he was confused ,because he thought he bought a restoration project carb. But I told him to call Nash or Tom.....
besides, Q is arriving here today ,hope to see him tonite or tomorrow! may get a couple of the guys/birds together...
Glad to hear Banshee is doin well. I have only spoken with him once and was blown away with the wealth of information he provided. If someone can build him a puter I'd be happy to kick in a few bucks to help cover the costs.
He said he'd do some local shopping for a new one this week, and he'd let us know if he buys it or needs a rebuild from us. Lets give him a couple days. If we go that route, I'll do the rebuild and testing, then ship to him. Thanks to all for offering help and parts!

Yeah, Tom sounds as if he's doing pretty well. He's had a long go of things lately, so a road trip sounds like perfect medicine. We've tried to get together for lunch a couple of times, but my schedule usually gets in the way.
I'll try again this weekend. If we're successful I'll give him everyone's regards.

Cool Tom I've been wondering where you've been. I would really like to see your new addition to your bird collection. The next time I plan to come down your way I'll give you a call and see if your going to be around.
