My 455 is all back together now and better looking than ever. I have it ready to put in in the AM and was wondering if anybody put theirs in with the headers on or is it too much. I took it out with them off so I don't know if there are things in the way that I can't tell by looking. All the front is on so over the core support. Thanks EB
I put mine on in the car. Doug's headers were the easiest install of header ever! With the location of exhaust ports on the heads I'd go install after motor is in.
I had a crappy fitting set of early-design hooker comp+, and the right side was a miserable install. I put my engine in with the right header installed without an issue, and I could have done it with both headers on it.
Based on what I have seen in the last decade of interacting with hobby car guys, I would strongly recomend installing the engine without the headers attached. But if you think you're a badass, go for it. Keep in mind there is a big difference between thinking and knowing.
Thanks, no badass here. I left the headers off, bought a engine load leveler and it was a breeze. Headers went on after and it is in and running great, not drivable yet but sounds good. EB
