Anyone used/using one of these Electric water pump . Do they work as advertised? Seems to make sense about the low rpm cooling + the little extra hp. May not be "original, but I think they look, uh, excuse me, cool.

Thought about getting one myself for the reasons you listed. My 68 runs a little hot sometimes in the summer, especially when sitting in traffic.

I did notice this note in the part description "Pontiac with 11-Bolt Cover 1969-81". Will if fit the 68???

These were originally designed for race motors so high rpm and high speeds shouldn't be a problem (although sustained high rpm and speed may be a problem). Seal life on these is something like 2000 hours. You would have to convert over to a 1969 or later timing cover, 11 bolt water pump, and get late model pullies. I've actually considered doing myself. To bad they don't have a pre-69 application. Also Meziere sells one:
