I wont be worrying about installing this for awhile yet, but there are several other quetsions about rear ends on the boards so I thought that I should follow suit. will a rear end from a 3rd gen work on a first gen? im thinking that it wont look all that great. I have one with 3.23 gears and disc brakes from an 83/84 camaro sitting in the barn next to my fireturd, so I was just wondering... thanks,
ring is smaller/weaker. spring perches are for coils axle tubes are smaller brakes are small
width might be close.. don't know. You could make it work if you wanted to, but I cant think of a reason other than it's free. It might end up costing extra though.
I think some people have put the rear discs onto 1stgen rears, but they have kinda small pistons. You'd have to do something to get some more work out of the rears.
the rear disc set up on the 3rd gen birds are junk.they have the ratcheting style pistons and it is always difficult to get a good brake bedal with them.i use to hate to work on them
