recently got a 68 firebird project car, hazards flash but turn signals don't work. I've searched the forums and not clear if there is a 2nd relay other than the hazard relay attached to the fuse panel? Do the turn signals have their own relay separate than the hazards? obviously getting power to the lights and bulbs work....?
ok found the flasher relay swapped it with the hazard one on the fuse block and same issue. hazards work, turn signals dont. now here's something interesting..when car is running, the right instrument cluster turn signal arrow indicator stays on. also don't have reverse lights. hmmm, any other suggestions on how to figure out this electrical issue out and get these signals working?
headlights/brights, rear lights and brake lights are working.
The hazards use the brake light filaments in the bulbs, not the turn signal ones. Could be a bad turn signal switch, but more likely it's a grounding issue. Start with one side at a time. Use a test light or a voltmeter and check for power at front and rear of that side. If OK, and the bulb isn't working, either the bulb, socket, or ground is bad. More often than not, it's the sockets.
Grounding would be my 1st guess. Make sure the main instrument panel ground at the top instrument bezel screw is OK.

I still have turn signal problems myself and have never been electrically inclined (though I can do light bulbs and fuses!). Would give anything to have someone close by who would help me solve my electrical woes in exchange for a kick-@ss steak dinner.
