is it possible to test circuits like turn signals when the car is not running? Headlights/hazards/interior lights run on constant power. To my knowledge turn signals only work when car is running but I'm tired of breathing exhaust when trying to test my rear turn signal lights and having the car sit and idle as I work on the front turn signals.
Such items as turn signals will be powered when the ignition key is in the "run" position.
So twist the key to "run" but do not continue to "start" and the motor will not crank (and run).

ok, I wasn't aware of that, so items like turn signals, blower motor and radio, wipers, etc get power in the run position. makes sense now that I take a minute to think about it.
Those items are also considered "switchable hot" for the purposes of tapping in new circuits for aftermarket stuff.
