I've narrowed it down to two choices for the cam I want to install. Either the Comp Cams XE268H .477 intake, .480 exhaust, duration at .050: 224 intake & 230 exhaust or I'm also considering the Comp Cams factory muscle cam for the ram air IV, with probably using the non-ram air rockers, intake & exhaust lift .470, duration at .050: 230 intake & 240 exhaust. Decent choices?

Dude, it's kind of like saying which shade of blue do you like best? Seriously there are so many things that factor into cam choice there's about a million and a half choices depending on your circumstances. I've heard not to go over 226@.050 unless you're building a race car but buy what you want. Changing it out for something better isn't that hard. Check out this article. Maybe it will help. http://www.thepontiactransampage.com/engineblueprint.html

I almost went with the XE268, but decided on the Summit #2802 instead. Robert is right about the # of options. Really depends on what you are building. The #2802 is a good all around, and for the price you can't beat it.
Also heard some good things about this Cam from folks in the local cruisin tigers GTO club that I am involved with.

I ran the 2801 for awhile and was thoroughly unimpressed but did have the best 1/4 mi time ever with that motor so it just goes to show that bigger, louder, rougher isn't always better.

yeah, I hate asking for cam recommendations. No one around where I live is a Pontiac guy so there's really no one to ask around here. Me being a Mustang guy, if you ask me a cam recommendation for a 351 Cleveland I can go all nite with different cams & specs. The Comp Cams looked good "on paper", just wanted some insight if anyone actually used it. Thanks guys.

Ken Keefer put a Comp Cams XE274H in mine (230/236 488/491).
Car just hit the road today for the first time in 9 months. About to go to the garage and give it a listen. Not sure how the feel will be yet.

Checked it out today with the XE274H. Sounds like a mild muscle car. Not modern smooth... but not super lopey or radical. Didn't check manifold vacuum yet.
You hear the cam at 500rpm.
